Piercings start with internally threaded surgical steel by default, with upgrades to threadless titanium as an option. Almost all piercings require a downsize to heal properly, which is a separate purchase. Surgical steel downsizing must purchase a whole piece, but Titanium posts can be purchased individually. Some piercings do not need to be downsized, like the septum.
